Who is responsible

xScarlife Gaming is an independent World of Warcraft content project run by an individual creator. xScarlife Gaming is responsible for the limited personal data processed through this website.

Privacy questions and requests can be sent by . You can also reach the community through the xScarlife Gaming Discord server, although Discord processes messages under its own privacy terms.

What data is processed

The website does not offer visitor accounts or a newsletter. It does not use behavioural analytics, advertising pixels or affiliate tracking. A dedicated route contribution form is available for community members who voluntarily want to submit a farming route for review. Visitors can also report a route that may be outdated or incorrect, or send suggestions and setup-issue reports about xScarlifeUI. Limited technical data can be processed to deliver and protect the site.

Website delivery

IP address, request time, requested URL, referrer when supplied, browser or device information and response status may appear in standard server and network logs.

Purpose: availability, diagnostics and security

Security events

IP addresses and technical details connected with failed login attempts or suspected abuse may be recorded so attacks can be detected and blocked.

Purpose: protect the website and administrator access

Messages you send

If you contact xScarlife Gaming by email or Discord, the address or account name, message content and any attachments you provide are processed to answer you.

Purpose: respond to your request and maintain support history

Route contributions

If you submit a farming route, the route title and string, game version, expansion, zone, resource types, optional testing notes, your optional public display name and the confirmations recorded with the submission are processed so the route can be reviewed, tested and, if accepted, published. The contribution form does not collect an email address or Discord username.

Purpose: review community routes and document permission to publish

Route issue reports

If you report a published route, the selected route, issue category, your explanation and an optional email address or Discord username are processed. The message and optional contact detail are encrypted and visible only to authorised administrators.

Purpose: investigate and correct routes that may be outdated or inaccurate

xScarlifeUI feedback

If you send a suggestion or report a problem with xScarlifeUI, the feedback type, game version, subject, explanation and optional reproduction steps are processed. The explanation and optional steps are encrypted and visible only to authorised administrators. The form does not ask for an email address or Discord username. An administrator notification contains only the reference, type and game version, not your message or subject.

Purpose: review suggestions and investigate xScarlifeUI or setup issues

Search terms can form part of the requested URL and may therefore appear in technical logs. Copying an import string or route uses this website’s server-side copy service. The request can appear in normal logs, but the copied content is retrieved server-side, so GitHub does not receive your browser’s IP address from that copy action.

Why this processing is allowed

Technical delivery, security and abuse prevention are based on the legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website. Messages are processed to take steps at your request and to answer or manage the conversation. Data may also be processed where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Route contribution data is processed because you ask xScarlife Gaming to review your submission and because the project has a legitimate interest in testing submissions, preventing duplicate or abusive entries and keeping a limited record of the permission attached to an accepted route. The optional publication of your display name is based on the choice you make in the form.

Route issue reports are processed because you ask xScarlife Gaming to investigate a published route and because the project has a legitimate interest in keeping its route library accurate and preventing duplicate or abusive reports. Supplying contact details is optional.

xScarlifeUI feedback is processed because you ask the project to review your suggestion or issue and because it has a legitimate interest in improving its own interface and setup instructions while limiting duplicate or abusive submissions. This form is not a personal support channel.

Where consent is specifically requested in the future, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it was withdrawn.

Cookies, analytics and embedded media

xScarlife Gaming does not place analytics or advertising cookies and does not build visitor profiles. Administration cookies are restricted to authorised administrators. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security cookies to distinguish legitimate requests from automated or malicious traffic.

YouTube embeds

Some pages contain embedded YouTube players. Privacy-enhanced mode is used where configured, but older guide embeds may still load from youtube.com. Loading or playing an embedded video can disclose your IP address, referrer and browser or device information to Google or YouTube, and they may use cookies or similar identifiers under their own policies.

You can block third-party content or cookies in your browser. This may prevent embedded videos from working. Direct links to YouTube, Twitch, Discord, Patreon, Buy Me a Coffee and other external services do not transfer data to those services until you choose to follow the link.

Service providers and international processing

Website hosting and Cloudflare process network and log data to deliver and protect the site. Google or YouTube processes data when an embedded player loads or is used. The email provider and Discord process information when you contact xScarlife Gaming through those services.

These providers can process data in several locations. Where data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the relevant provider is expected to use an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard. Their own notices explain their processing in more detail:

How long data is kept

Technical and security logs are retained only for the period needed for delivery, troubleshooting, abuse prevention and security review. The exact period can vary with the hosting, network and security settings, after which the records are deleted or overwritten.

Email or Discord conversations are kept while a request is active and afterwards only when reasonably needed for follow-up, abuse prevention, record keeping or legal claims. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. No marketing profile is created.

New route submissions that are not taken into testing, and rejected submissions, are automatically deleted after 90 days. Submissions under active testing are kept while the review remains open. When an accepted route is converted into a website resource, the submitted route string is removed from the contribution record. The route reference, content hash, licence confirmation, review status and any public display name are kept while reasonably needed to publish the route and document the permission received.

Resolved or dismissed route issue reports are automatically deleted after 90 days. New or reviewed reports are automatically deleted after 180 days. No raw IP address is stored with a report. A short-lived, pseudonymous technical fingerprint is used only to limit abuse and expires automatically.

The same schedule applies to xScarlifeUI feedback: resolved or dismissed submissions are deleted after 90 days, and new or reviewed submissions after 180 days. No raw IP address is stored with a feedback entry. A short-lived, pseudonymous technical fingerprint helps limit abuse. A content hash stays with the feedback record and is compared with submissions from the previous 14 days to detect duplicates.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may ask for access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an explanation of the processing. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where consent is the basis.

Send a request by . Enough information may be requested to verify that the request concerns you. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live, where you work or where you believe an infringement occurred. The European Data Protection Board lists national authorities.

No automated decision-making or profiling is carried out by xScarlife Gaming.
